Today’s 8-Miler… I know… I know… I know… that sounds pretty weak and slow, right? What can I say, this is our “TRAILiversary” Week and we decide to get outdoors and walk the Appalachian Trail to Long Creek Falls and back 😊

This day… during this “TRAILiversary” Week… we meet 4 Hikers attempting to thru-hike the AT North Bound in one continuous season. Pictured here (top-to-bottom) are: Steve (formally known as “Easy Rocks” and Melissa, “Class Act,” and “Wandering Dad.”

It was wonderful to take a selfie with them and to encourage them on their journey! Oh how we wish we were doing it again! Being outdoors is church for us and we enjoy being encompassed  by the handiwork of the Divine.

What’s not to love about such beauty as Long Creek Falls? Before you say, “But I just can’t do an 8 mile hike to get there!” Fear not! You can actually drive and park your vehicle only 1 mile from this spot on the trail and make an easy hike to and from it!

While enjoying lunch at the Falls, we meet a couple who thru-hiked the AT last year and who were hiking the BMT (Benton MacKaye Trail) this year (“Hondo” & “Turtle”).

What a perfect day to hike during our “TRAILiversary” Week! We are blessed to have the AT and the BMT so close to where we live… and have committed ourselves to be back on the trails as much as possible and as soon as possible.

Until next “TRAILiversary” Week… we encourage everyone to get outdoors!
