Slipper and I are both native Georgians and have traveled by Mount Yonah our entire lives without ever investigating it… until we intentionally decide to climb and hike it.

While it is a popular trail for a lot of people, one can arrive early in the morning to practically miss the crowd (especially when hiking on a week day).

The hike is a bit strenuous, but certainly a trail worth hiking!

The views atop the mountain allow the Hiker to see the expanse of both farm land and domestic population.

With the top of the mountain displaying its rock cliffs to those passing by (as Slipper I did for most of our lives), if repelling off a cliff is your source of adrenaline rush… these are some cliffs that our military uses for training purposes and therfore anchor bolts are in place for and easier set-up.

As you hike around the summit of the mountain, you will appreciate the views and the various rock ledges to stop… sit… see… sip a beverage… share a packed meal… and soak in the beauty of nature.

As you hike back down Yonah Mountain… be sure to turn around when you get about half way down… look up… and say, “I just did that!”

Yonah Mountain is great little Day Hike. If you feel hungry after hiking it and you are craving a Hamburger. Stop by Yonah Burger and tell them Tripper & Slipper sent you.

Put Yonah Mountain on your “Things To Do List” and the “Yonah Burger” on your “Things To Eat List.”

Have fun!
