We recently trade in Slipper’s Infiniti Shuttle for her new Jeep Rubicon Shuttle and decide on our day off from work to invest the day in NOVICE OVERLANDING.
Destination? Lake Conasauga!
After the 10 mile approach via a gravel road, we discover that the picnic area and campground are closed due to the Corona Virus pandemic.
So… we park at the boat ramp parking of Lake Conasauga and enjoy the afternoon walking the lake loop trail.
After our relaxing hike, we jump in the Jeep for a short time of NOVICE OVERLANDING.
Before leaving the top of our mountain, we decide to carry our backpacks and the necessities to overnight a stay (should we decide to do so).
Instead, we back the Jeep off the road for our first official day of NOVICE OVERLANDING.
People often ask us what our next adventure is (now that we have thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail). Our answer is: Everyday is an adventure and Everyday’s the 14th!
Just so happens that on this adventurous day, we give NOVICE OVERLANDING a try.
And the saying is true: “Try it… You’ll like it!
