On our way to Mountain Crossings for (what we would consider as our official launch to thru-hike The Appalachian Trail), we took a walk to the highest point in the state of Georgia (Brasstown Bald).
With some snow still clinging to the ground (as it it were begging Mother Nature to let it stay around for just one more day), we enjoyed the views and fresh air from atop the Bald.
While we heard a few voices singing: “Rocky Top” (While looking in the direction of Tennessee), Slipper and I began singing: “ain’t no mountain high enough… ain’t no valley low enough… ain’t no river wide enough… to keep me from you” (as we were reminding ourselves that we actually live in “dem-der-hills”).
