We love to stealth camp at night and there really is THE STEALTH CAMP ADVANTAGE!
First of all, what am I referring to when I say: “Stealth Camp” (as this term can have different meanings)?
For Slipper and I, “stealth camping” is when we find a special, secluded, secret, single place to camp (where others normally do not camp). What we desire is either a spectacular view or secluded privacy!
THE STEALTH CAMP ADVANTAGE is the ability to camp… sleep… eat… and hike alone!
We have discovered that when you hike with a group or just one or two more people… stopping to take pictures becomes slim to none! Why? Because other people have other priorities… other hiking pace… and other points of interest! For example… we see beauty in the swamp photo depicted above… most people hike right past it!
We caught a glimpse of this lake and had to detour from the trail a little to capture this photo. Most people stay on the trail… period! This kind of view is THE STEALTH CAMP ADVANTAGE!
If you are only concerned about making the miles… rather than making the smiles… chances are you will walk right past these kind of settings. THE STEALTH CAMP ADVANTAGE is we can stop and smell the roses… pause to capture a photo… linger a little longer at a special place… and create memories that will last a whole lot longer than “doing more miles!”
The above photo looks like the perfect place to sit down and have an extended lunch, right? We did! Not everybody is willing to invest such time! We call this THE STEALTH CAMP ADVANTAGE!
Some people may think we are prudes… non-sociable… elitest… rude… or just “stuck-up!” Not so! We just take advantage of THE STEALTH CAMP ADVANTAGE!
