What can I say… we step out from our front door and immediately begin hiking inclines and declines along the road system of our mounatin community.

With our first accumulation of snow (31/4″), we decide to head out for a day of snow hiking.

Our dear friends (David & Becky Dickerson) have communicated to others within our community that we have officially begun our daily hiking rountine of conditioning and to be-on-the-look-out for us early in the morning or later in the evening.

We are sorta kinda beginning to feel like celebrities! People will flash their lights… honk their horn… wave… and even stop to chat… when they spot us on the road!

Needless to say, we are “stoked” about our upcoming epic journey on the Appalachian Trail and we hope that you will choose to follow us throughout the upcoming months as we condition and prepare ourselves.

We are currently UNDER CONTRACT to purchase an older Mountain Farmhouse in Bent Tree (to actually have a place to return home to once we depart from the trail) and we’ll be keeping you posted in the remodeling project of the home as we proceed.

Send us an e-mail and let us hear from you. Keep smiling and start hiking!
