We have been “out-of-the-loop” (literally) for the past several months, as we have purchased a Old Farm House and have totally renovated it!
We love the community that we live in (being about 45 minutes from Springer Mountain) and purchased a Farm House less than half a mile from the rental that we were in.
Today is “Moving Day!”
After a 4 month renovation, we are officially moving into OUR A.T SHELTER 🙂
We thought that we might be officially homeless after completing our Thru-Hike next year, but with interest rates being as low as they have been… with both of us being Realtors… and knowing the people who owned AND BUILT the Farm House… we just couldn’t pass it up (not to mention that our mortgage payment will be $100+ LESS per month than was our rental payment).
Bottom line… we’ve got to live somewhere, right?
“Men On The Move” (out of Young Harris, GA) have become our “go-to” Movers from the last move that we made with them.
Shout out to Dominic & Jeff of “Men On The Move” for taking great care of us, as we position ourselves to best prepare and condition for our 2016 AT Thru-Hike.
Once “Slipper” gets everything the way she wants it to be (most likely by tomorrow… being that we have so scaled down… given things away… donated items… and have edited… and edited… and edited), we will “crank up” the daily backpack hiking (before and after work) to be in the groove of daily walking the inclines and declines of the Trail.
