Whenever the opportunity presents itself on Christmas morning, Tripper likes to wake anyone trying to sleep-in, to the smell of sausage, bacon and country ham.

Okay…okay…okay… so what do two outdoor enthusiasts do on Christmas morning when they both finally wake up? Yeah… after that too! They go outside! Afterall, they ARE outdoor enthusiasts 🙂

And what do you think two outdoor enthusiasts give one another as Christmas Gifts on Christmas morning? Something that enhances outdoor fun, right? RIGHT! With a little informative coaching from Travis and Shirley (Owners of The North Georgia Mountain Outfitters) regarding backpacks and sleeping bags, we make the decision to gift one another with packs and bags!

Tripper has the Osprey Atmos 65L Backpack and Slipper the Osprey Aura 50L Backpack.

We both decide on the Western Mountaineering Ulta-Light 20 Degree Bags… primarily because the two can be zipped together for that Christmas morning wake-up experience 365 days per year :)… not to mention adding a bit more body heat for those colder-than-cold nights out.

As you can tell, Christmas was a lot of fun on our side of the mountain! How much fun was it? So much fun that I found it a challenge to get Slipper out of the tent and back into the house 🙂

We closed out the day planting our Christmas Tree in the front yard of our home.

Tomorrow we will call Len Foote Hike Inn to see when we can get reservations for a visit. Until then, we wish all of our family and friends a Very Merry Christmas and a Hiking New Year 🙂 GET OUT THERE!
