FYI… The mileage to Maine (Mount Katahdin… from Newfound Gap) is 1,972 (and some change). Hey… we are now under 2,000 miles to go! Dang! We’ll be there before the next kickoff of football season! LOL!

When we arrive back to Newfound Gap (from resupplying in Gatlinburg)… the Parking Lot is almost full and people are everywhere! WHO RUNG THE BELL? Where has everybody come from and why are they gathering around the trail? Come to find out it is Spring Break… and the students and parents who are here today are here to enjoy the mountains and day hike sites that they can enjoy. It’s like the bell has rung at school and the entire student body is here!

After hiking past Charlie’s Bunion (a famous site north on the A.T. from Newfound Gap) where there were over 20 students at lunchtime (I would have posted a photo, but it would look like a class field trip… heck… it probably was!), Slipper and I find a remote spot just off the trail to have our own private lunch.

Of course… what the school doesn’t teach you is that not far north from Charlie’s Bunion are these incredible sites.

After our private lunch… these kinda sites are our dessert (or as others have said… are like the icing on the cake… or are the cherry on top).

These are the sites that you just want to stand in awe of and stare at for hours on in!

I am capturing tons of raw footage on my GoPro Camera and plan to write 3 books upon our return and plan on using Post Edited Footage as the illustrations to the EBooks… so stay tuned for more information about these upcoming books.

When I ring the bell… you too can claim your copy of 1… 2… or all three books!
