As the finish line comes into sight, the adrenaline kicks in as we continue MAKING OUR WAY FORWARD toward Mount Katahdin. Waking up to a sunrise appearing atop a mountain is the perfect stimulus for us to be MAKING OUR WAY FORWARD into our final state to hike through.

Hiking by and across streams that are flowing with water simply add “life” to our hike (for nothing slows down one’s journey as does high temperatures with no water for miles).

We understand that more and more boulder fields are lurking before us, but we continue MAKING OUR WAY FORWARD up and over… around… and sometimes crawling under the boulders that create quite the challenge for our walk.

While it might be tempting to hang out around these tracks and catch a ride into the next state, we are MAKING OUR WAY FORWARD up and over more of the Presidential Mountains.

We have heard about a train that travels down and back up to the summit of Mount Washington. Who knows… maybe we can catch a ride on this train (just for fun) and have the opportunity to see this iconic mountain from yet another perspective. If they allow hang-gliding from the mountain, I would take this flight also… and should they have a group that offers Base Jumping from the summit of the mountain, I would try this too.

Bottom line… we are MAKING OUR WAY FORWARD.

These views are breathtaking and to maintain the awe… the wonder… and the amazement  of all these mountains have to offer, we will slow our pace and even come into a safe place (away from the footpath) to escape inclement weather (in order to celebrate the visible beauty of these mountains and continue MAKING OUR WAY FORWARD).

Remember… it’s all about the “smiles”… not all about the “miles!” Please continue following us as we continue MAKING OUR WAY FORWARD!
