Just when you think that all the pain is gone when exiting New Hampshire… BAM… you enter the MAINE PAIN of the trail in Southern Maine (from Car Sized Boulders to climb… crawl under… and cry on… to roots for stepping over and slipping on).
Don’t think for a minute that the rocks and boulders are gone! Heck no! It’s that there are more and more roots added to what is now an Obstacle Course!
Footpath??? LOL! Give us some rope and carabiners!
Climbing the trail (rather than walking the trail) has become the new norm (at least for a little while), but the views are memorable even in the midst of the MAINE PAIN.
We are loving the water views within the MAINE PAIN… so much so that we have an idea to get closer to the water.
