Although the hiking terrain is probably the easiest hiking terrain on the entire Appalachian Trail, The Shenandoah is geared more for the automobile… motorcycle… and cycling tourist than the Thru-Hiker! Now before you pitch-a-fit… hear me out…
We are thru-hiking to get away from commercialized civilization not to be crowded in by it! The Appalachian Trail crosses Skyline Drive more times than you can imagine and there is a constant stream of traffic (not to mention crowds of people at Parking Lots along the way and Lodges).
For us, it is much like hiking within the community we live in within the North Georgia Mountains.
We do enjoy several clear views today and we continue to make our way and LET THE SUN SHINE IN… & FACE IT WITH A GRIN. Enjoy the following photos…
