Since it’s not about the miles… IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SMILES!
Slipper and I had the joy of meeting these three ladies while hiking and have been so much encouraged by their smiles and kind expressions. After all… IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SMILES!
We meet a Trail Maintainer in New York who was cleaning and cutting his section of the trail, and who stopped what he was doing to point out a plant known as: The Jewel Weed.
The Jewel Weed is known as the cure (and opposite) to Poison Ivy… Oak… and Sumac! Wow! Wish I had known this when I was a kid! IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SMILES!
This big tree had obviously and recently fallen (of course long before Slipper decides to walk under it) and has become an unusual canopy to the Appalachian Trail. IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SMILES!
This Oak Tree is the largest and oldest tree on the trail and is believed to be over 300 years old! I hope it is still standing another 300 years (and doesn’t have the plight of the tree that had recently fallen). Hey… IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SMILES!
I had to take the above photo of Slipper at The Appalachian Trail Train Station/ Stop! I asked her before taking the picture, if she was ready to take the train home. IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SMILES!… By the way, she said, “No!”
Okay… okay… okay… so you are probably thinking, “Enough with the photos of the Oak Trees!” I’ll have you know that I was taking a picture of Slipper! IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SMILES!
Lastly… we have now entered Connecticut! BAM! IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SMILES!
