Slipper and I met up with two of our friends from Tennessee (who drove up to Pearisburg, Virginia for their vacation) to share in FUNTIME ON THE TRAIL.
Al and Norma (Trail Names: Shiner & Ju Ju) are planning their attempt to thru-hike The Appalachian Trail in 2019 and were present during our “Send-Off-Party” from Amicalola Lodge.
We have thoroughly enjoyed FUNTIME ON THE TRAIL for a week from Virginia to West Virginia (By God) and have created some fun memories that will keep us smiling and laughing for years to come.
We hike and camp atop this beautiful meadow where we catch this beautiful sunrise the next morning from inside our tent (overlooking Shiner and Ju Ju’s tent).
After a long and challenging day of intense hiking, we decide to take a fun break and cool off our feet and legs in this mountain stream.
The cooling of our feet and legs enable us to climb up to another fun campsite (where we are shielded from the wind by a large rock outcropping… from which I take this photo of us breaking down our camp).
Upon hiking out from our camp each morning, we set our attention on hiking to the next, upcoming shelter (where I can rate the privy… we can filter fresh water… and we can break bread for lunch… or shall I say, we can roll a tortilla for lunch).
After lunch, FUNTIME ON THE TRAIL continues as our laughter echoes through the trees…
and FUNTIME ON THE TRAIL continues as our laughter flows down stream…
and FUNTIME CONTINUES ON THE TRAIL as laughter rings out from the mountain top…
and FUNTIME CONTINUES ON THE TRAIL as laughter strolls across a pasture…
and FUNTIME CONTINUES ON THE TRAIL as we wait (in the heat of the sun) for our shuttle driver… and yet laughter welcomes and waves at all the passer-bys who fly by on VA42.
If you don’t know by now… this week with our friends from Tennessee has truly been FUNTIME ON THE TRAIL!
And tomorrow… the fun continues!
