When the rain drops are as big as bricks…

When the rain is torrential and hasn’t let up all night…

When the rain is blowing down… sideways… and beating the mud up onto your tent…

When the rain finally makes its way under your tent in the form of a slow moving creek…

When the rain is going to prohibit you from enjoying the many high elevation views that you are to experience…

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN THE RAIN IS POURING DOWN?

You simply stay inside your tent… get everything up off the tent floor (or make certain that it is in a waterproof bag)… and enjoy an extended breakfast with hot coffee UNTIL it let’s up enough to break down camp.

We finally catch a break (no pun intended) and begin our day’s hike (which is to be full of high elevated views). The photo above is one of the views that should be expansive beyond the rock… but as you can see it is just a “white out” from the dense fog… so you just have to use a little imagination… and then it can become whatever you want it to be (afterall, on this particular day you have a blank canvas on which to imagine).

So… WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN THE RAIN IS POURING DOWN… eat an extended breakfast… drink coffee… wait… and imagine.
