I can hear Liza Minelli and Frank Sinatra singing the lyrics that entitles this blog: “NEW YORK… NEW YORK!” Slipper and I are both amazed of the beauty of the New York landscape (other than the tall skyscrapers… buildings… and mass of people).
After waking up to the view from our tent (as seen in the Feature Photo), we walk through the Lemon Squeeze (depicted in the photo above)… a small cave like area with side walls so tight that we have to take off our packs to squeeze through it.
While the mountains of “NEW YORK… NEW YORK” are a bit smaller than most other mountains we have climbed… the view are big!
If you look closely in the middle of the above photo (just under the limb) you will see the city scape of Manhattan on the horizon.
In the photo directly above, you can see the Manhattan Skyline on the horizon (just above the middle tree).
The same is true in the above photo as well… you can see the city scape of Manhattan just on the horizon. What a massive contrast from where we are, right? The thing is… we are still in “NEW YORK… NEW YORK!”
*Note: If you have the capacity to tap the above photos to zoom in and enlarge them… do so and notice a clearer view of the “NEW YORK… NEW YORK” City.
