If you plan to camp out on the trail and you desire to sleep IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT on the peninsula of a pond, you may have to be willing to be diverted off the main trail for a short distance.
The sad thing is far too many Hikers are in such a hurry to get through and finish, that to take a side trail… off the main trail… is of no consideration to them.
To “be” IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT, one must slow the pace… escape from the race… and be willing to trace… the side trail to a remote and beautiful spot that is not visited by as many people.
We have always rested well IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT!
