Slipper and I had the opportunity to be touched and truthfully transformed by the care and compassion of a few Trail Angels along our 2016 NOBO thru-hike of The Appalachian Trail! Today, we make a transition FROM TRAIL HIKERS TO TRAIL ANGELS by picking up “England” (a Flip-Flop Hiker we met along the trail).watch movie Okja now

We last saw “England” just before entering the Hundred Mile Wilderness in Maine and encouraged him to contact us when he summited Springer Mountain in Georgia. He did!

“England” successfully completed his thru-hike October 29, 2016! Yay… England! Congratulations!

Slipper and I drove up to The Amicalola Lodge Sunday October 30, 2016 (after work), and picked up “England” to shuttle him to Atlanta (for his last several days in America) to catch a flight back to his country of England.

Of course, on the way to Atlanta, we wanted to treat “England” to a Successful Celebration Dinner! We tell him that he can choose any restaurant of choice and he asks that we eat at a buffet (a true Hiker’s selection of where to eat).

We stop at the Golden Corral of Cumming, GA. and close the restaurant down! Being that Slipper and I have only been off the trail for several weeks, I kept up with “England” (at the beginning of our meal together), but he “took the cake” (just a little pun intended) at the Dessert Bar!

We dropped “England” off at the Microtel of Sandy Springs (just a few blocks away from the North Atlanta Marta Station) and said our “Good-Byes.”

It was an honor and a joy to share in “England’s” successful thru-hike celebration and for us to successful transition FROM TRAIL HIKERS TO TRAIL ANGELS.

Compassionate Giving is how we choose to live our lives! Meeting people where they are and helping them to become all that they can be is how we move FROM TRAIL HIKERS TO TRAIL ANGELS.
